Trucking
Reefer freight, done right.
Vee’s Produce Trucking is a boutique reefer freight operation built around produce. We book directly with carriers we know — not with load boards, not with the lowest bidder — because that’s the only way produce shows up on time and in grade.
What we haul
Strictly refrigerated, strictly produce.
We’ve run other equipment and other freight over the years. Every time we wandered off path, we ended up right back here: reefer trucks hauling produce across North America. So that’s what we do, and we do it well.
Our lanes
- Pacific Northwest → Upper Midwest — high-volume onions and apples out of Washington into Minnesota and Wisconsin
- Idaho → Upper Midwest — potato lanes, direct from grower to customer
- Salinas / Yuma → Upper Midwest — lettuce and leafy greens, multi-pick, appointment-critical
These aren’t just lanes. They’re relationships we’ve built with specific carriers who run these routes on a schedule we trust.
How we work
Boutique service, not lowest bidder.
Licensed freight brokerage (DOT #2478724, MC #855963). We don’t own trucks. We book directly with smaller carriers who know our lanes and run them on a schedule we can plan for and depend on.
No load boards. No lowest bidder. No surprises.
Many brokers today use AI agents to bid lanes down to win the business, then scramble to find a truck at a rate that probably doesn’t meet market conditions. It’s under-market which usually leads to under-performance — late loading, late deliveries, or worse, NCNS, the no-call-no-show.
- We follow rates, fuel, and markets honestly
- We treat carriers the same way we treat shippers — as partners with dignity and respect
- We are price conscious. We have also learned that being the cheapest and being the best are mutually exclusive.
Tracking & visibility
Every load with Vee’s Produce is tracked end-to-end on FreightFlow. FreightFlow was created and funded by an onion guy, Butch Peri. And he built a great product — daily location updates, temperature monitoring if you include us in your temp tracking, clean paperwork, and we still have a real person (Michael) who answers when you call, text, or email.
Who runs it
Michael Vespa — Trucking Manager
Joined Vee’s in 2020 — learned the business during the COVID supply chain crisis, maybe the hardest time to ever learn produce freight on the fly. If he can handle that, he can handle your trucking needs.
